5 out of 5 starsThis dress is fabulous! The fit is amazing, the design exactly what I expected and the quality exceptional. I wore it to an event the day I received it and received so many compliments I lost count. This dress flatters your figure, and made me look so much better than other outfits I own. That said, I will be purchasing several more Melissa Bell designs. She knows how to flatter a woman's shape. And did I mention the pockets? Just the right size for a credit card or lipstick. What else could you ask for?

1 out of 5 starsIn my more than 10 years of shopping and selling (running a supplies store with more than 4500 sales and 0 negative feedback) I have never had to leave negative feedback for anyone, and I usually rather shut up if I don’t have anything nice to say. Well, not this time. Not only did I have to send a 'reminder' after ten days, for her to not only TAKE my money but actually SHIP the item too (for a dress that was claimed in stock and ready to ship), when it finally arrived it was in parts amateurishly made - which might just have been sloppiness, but when I pay that much money for a dress I expect it to be well made in every aspect. While the shop owner offered to fix the poor construction she absolutely refused to take the dress back, which was what I had asked her to do when I realized that the fabric used was a synthetic . The item description is poor and inadequate, not mentioning that the dress is made of 100% polyester but just calling it a ‘jersey knit’ (with cotton knits commonly being referred to as ‘jersey knits’) – the material feels cheap and looks like it’s meant for a bathing suit. I know a thing or two about garment construction and love to support small businesses on etsy, but it’s sad to know that I will think twice before I decide to spend my money on a handmade dress again, and rather take the time to make it myself. I had to go through PayPal to get my money back. Wish I hadn’t wasted my time and nerve (and money, though temporarily) on this sad experience. What is great for so many hard working small business owners on etsy can be a downside too: anybody can open up a shop and sell their handmade things no matter the quality of materials being used, their workmanship or their pitiful and unprofessional take on customer service.
